Teacher arrested for allegedly assaulting 14-year-old-boy at Cochise County school

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (FOX 10) - The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a substitute teacher was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

CCSO was advised Friday afternoon that an assault had occurred at Coronado School near Sierra Vista.

Deputies arrived on the scene and requested medical assistance for Walter Benny, a 50-year-old substitute teacher, who was experiencing a medical issue. It was discovered Benny had allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old boy in the class before the medical issue.

Benny was taken to a hospital for treatment and then booked into the Cochise County Jail upon release.
