Tucson terror suspect attends hearing

An 18-year-old accused of plotting to blow up government buildings has pleaded not guilty.

Investigators say Mahin Khan contacted known terror groups and wanted to acquire weapons and bomb-making instructions.

Khan attended schools in Chandler and lived in a high-end Tucson neighborhood.

But in court Khan was alone and represented by a public defender. A judge allowed a camera in the courtroom but Khan's attorneys argued against that saying that the family and suspect feared that they could be at risk for retaliation.

The FBI says Khan initially wanted to get his hands on guns but instead pursued instructions to make a pressure cooker bomb.

Investigators have accused him of wanting to bomb MVD offices in Maricopa County.

A judge ordered that Khan be held without bond.
