Two men shot during road-rage incident on valley freeway

Two men were shot on a valley freeway on Wednesday night after an apparent road-rage incident.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety tells Fox 10 that the two men were traveling northbound on the Loop-101 near Indian School when shots were fired at their SUV from a grey Honda car that was traveling to the right of them.

DPS believes the passengers of the Honda became agitated with the two men in the SUV and then fired upon them.

The 26-year-old driver of the SUV was shot in the leg and his 20-year-old passenger was shot in the chest. Both were taken to a local hospital where they are in stable condition.

The suspects are described as white or light-skinned Hispanic men driving a grey Honda passenger car.

As a result, traffic restrictions were in place overnight as DPS continued their investigation.

After being closed for several hours overnight, the freeway has been re-opened.

DPS urges anyone with any information to call DPS at 602-223-2212.
