Valley teen smashes into several parked cars
GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say a teenager smashed into at least seven cars at a Glendale apartment complex overnight.
The Glendale Police Department says the incident happened at an apartment complex near 79th Avenue and Bell. At about 1:30 a.m., police received a call about a car speeding around the complex.
Shortly after this call, police received several more calls about the crash.
The 17-year-old teen was driving his BMW around the parking lot, when he crashed into at least seven parked cars. At one point, he tried to back up and crashed into a covered parking awning.
Immediately after this, the teen bailed out of his car and tried to leave the area.
According to neighbors, the teen was visiting his girlfriend at the apartment complex and was reportedly angry over a recent breakup with her. The BMW belongs to his girlfriend's father.
"Honestly, it sounded like a race car, and being at a race track," Alex Babb said. "He was going really, really fast."
No one was hurt and impairment doesn't appear to be a factor.
The investigation is ongoing by police, but the teen will likely face charges of criminal damage.
