VIDEO: Mother's Day brawl at East Point restaurant

Cameras caught the mayhem and madness of a brawl at a popular East Point restaurant this weekend.

The owners of Kiku Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar explained to FOX 5 News how a Mother's Day dinner melted down into an all-out melee. Owner Charlie Son said he was humiliated by what happened at his business.

Son said it all started because his employee smiled at a customer after a billing mix up.

"We try to keep customers happy. We try smiling. I think there was miscommunication and the customer got mad and hit him, slapped his face," said Son.

It turned into a brawl between employees who jumped in to defend their co-workers and at least three customers. Many people in the packed restaurant running for cover.

When the dust settled, Son was left holding the bag, out thousands of dollars in damages and lost checks.

"They didn't pay, they didn't pay, so we lost our money," said Son. "We lost $5,000"

East Point Police returned to the restaurant Monday. They pulled these images of two men they described as brother and a third man and a woman. They want to talk to all of them before making criminal charges.

Son said he regrets it happen at all, especially on Mother's Day.

"I am sorry about this happening at my restaurant," said Son.
