Water main break buries neighborhood in ice
SCRANTON, Pa. (FOX) - A Pennsylvania neighborhood looks like a winter wonderland, but residents say the conditions are anything but delightful.
East Market Street in Scranton was covered in ice Thursday because of a large water main break. Power lines, stop signs, fences, houses -- nearly everything in sight was covered with a thick layer of ice.
Crews were eventually able to get the water turned off and make the necessary repairs to the water line. It may be a few days before things thaw out, though -- temperatures are predicted to remain well below freezing, with lows below zero.
