Woman burned in Phoenix apartment fire, 8 people displaced

An apartment fire late Tuesday night in Phoenix left a woman hospitalized and eight people displaced, firefighters said.

What we know:

The fire broke out at about 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 4 near 7th Avenue and Camelback Road. When firefighters got to the scene, they found smoke coming from the second-floor of the building.

"Firefighters were able to quickly deploy hand lines, quickly extinguishing the fire, while simultaneously clearing the unit of any potential occupants," Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Todd Keller said.

An apartment fire near 7th Avenue and Camelback Road left a woman hospitalized and eight people displaced, the Phoenix Fire Department said.

One woman was taken to a hospital with minor burns.

Four units were damaged in the fire. Eight people were displaced.

No firefighters were hurt.

What we don't know:

The cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators will work to determine what sparked the flames.
