FOX 10 salutes Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Martinez. The Surprise native serves aboard the U.S.S. Carney and is currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. Martinez works as a Hospital Corpsman and was aboard the ship in October when the crew shot down multiple land attack cruise missiles and unmanned aerial drones launched by forces in Yemen while the ship was operating in the northern Red Sea. The missiles and drones were believed tobe headed toward Israel when they were intercepted. We thank you for your service.

Revamped 'tamale bill' advances out of AZ committee

The so-called "tamale bill" has advanced out of committee with a number of changes. Arizona law allows the street sales of what are known as "cottage foods", but the bill seeks to add certain cooked foods, like tamales, to the list. Last year, Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed the bill despite it passing with a majority of support from both sides of the aisle in the House and Senate. She now sounds more optimistic about the possibility of signing the new bill. "My team is actively engaged on it and I'm looking forward to getting a bill that I can sign," Hobbs said. The measure must be debated and approved by the full House and Senate before making it to Hobbs' desk.
