Rep. Gallego, who is running for Senate, said the Justice Department 'could impose overly burdensome costs,' while saying that unintended consequences would undermine the safety of the community.

Eleven Republicans are accused of submitting a document that falsely declared Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 election in Arizona. Joe Biden won the state by about 11,000 votes. One defendant has already pled guilty, and a second had charges dropped in exchange for her testimony.
