A group recently published their findings in the journal "Zookeys." The first discovered the tarantula during a 2018 trip to the Chiricahua Mountains in the Coronado National Forest, and in their paper, they compared the species with 20 others. They defined this new type of tarantula by their bright orange hairs, combined with its darker body.

Wildlife conservation experts came to the rescue of a bald eagle that they thought was injured. They later realized the bird was healthy, and it was just too fat to fly. The eagle was found at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield in Missouri. An X-ray showed parts of what appeared to be a raccoon's paw inside the eagle, an indication it might have feasted on raccoon roadkill.
