Since this year's monsoon season began, the absence of stormy weather has been quite noticeable, but that came to an end of July 17 for people in Phoenix, as a storm brought blowing dust to parts of the Valley.
Take a look at this video from south of the Valley. FOX 10 viewer Kim Adair shared video of the dust rolling her way, bringing low visibility for drivers in the area.
Twenty-one vehicles crashed and Montana Highway Patrol said authorities believe the weather is to blame.
A wall of dust, which was first spotted south of Phoenix, prompted National Weather Service officials to issue a Dust Advisory for Maricopa and Pinal Counties on June 21.
Monsoon season typically starts in June and state leaders are hoping to get ahead by discussing ways to detect dust storms sooner -- and help make drivers safer when the dust rolls in. FOX 10's Linda Williams reports.
