It was a scary moment for a driver after their car got stuck in a creek during a thunderstorm in the Dewey-Humboldt area. Two people jumped in to help but became stranded themselves.

Black Fire doesn't improve much after rainfall

Even with all the recent rainfall in Arizona, some areas in the high country remain under evacuation orders as flames burn near their homes. The big concern there the fast-moving Black Fire in the Tonto National Forest. It's burning on the south side of Roosevelt Lake on the edge of the Superstition Wilderness.

Freeman Fire: 31.7k acres burned, 5% containment

Authorities believe the fire burning near Dudleyville started after two lightning strikes that caused separatee fires that later merged into one. Evacuation orders remain in place at Willow Springs Ranch according to the Inciweb wildfire website.

Hillside Fire: 800+ acres burned, 88% containment

The fire started on July 9 with a lightning strike. Nearly 200 firefighters are at the scene in Yavapai County. The Cordes Lake area was at "set" status for possible evacuation, but later downgraded to "ready" status.
