As long as you weren?t in the path of any flooding, the rain has been great the last week. Great for farmers, municipalities and even hikers. The early start to rain has helped with fire restrictions in our state, too. In 2020, you might remember the non-soon. A lack of rain meant fire restrictions were in place through October. This year, it?s not even July yet and this year, restrictions are already being lifted.

Nearly 5,000 homes lost power due to interference with a major power line, according to the APS outage map. Homes affected by the outage have since regained power.

A tropical disturbance approaching the southernmost Caribbean islands is likely to become Tropical Storm Bonnie within the next couple of days, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Some Arizona cities nix July 4 fireworks for shortages, fire dangers

The city of Phoenix said it canceled its three major Independence Day displays because it couldn’t obtain the necessary fireworks due to supply chain problems. Displays in several other Phoenix metro cities are still on.
