Phoenix to approve police use of force settlement
The city of Phoenix is expected to approve its third settlement in just 45 days related to police use of force. The latest agreement is a $650,000 payment to the family of Casey Wells. In February 2019, Wells was found in the street, naked and acting erratically. Police used a stun gun on him after he allegedly assaulted an officer. Wells later died after reportedly suffering a heart attack. If approved, the total of the three settlements would be more than $11 million combined.
