U.S. suspends live animal imports due to flesh-eating parasite

New World screwworms (NWS) have caused the U.S. to suspend all live animal imports from Mexico indefinitely. The female flies lay eggs on open wounds of warm blooded animals and the eggs hatch in a matter of hours.
