Arizona weather forecast: Highs in the 60s this weekend in Phoenix

Friday afternoon, temperatures will warm to the mid-upper 60s in the Valley. The average high in Phoenix for mid-January is 68 degrees, so highs will be perfectly normal. Winds will be light with sunshine in Phoenix. In northern Arizona, winds may turn breezy by the afternoon with gusts of 20+ mph.

Over the weekend, consistent temperatures are expected. Highs in the middle 60s for Phoenix and the middle 40s in Flagstaff. Gusts in northern Arizona are expected to pick up to 25-35 mph both days.
After a weak system passed the state from Thursday night into Friday morning, the area is drying out. A few sprinkles passed Phoenix on Thursday evening. However, no measurable rain was recorded. As a result, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has now run 147 days without rain. This is tied for the second-longest stretch on record at Sky Harbor.
The last day of measurable rain in Phoenix was August 22. The longest stretch of dry conditions at the airport was December 1971 to June 1972 – 160 days.
MLK Day weather
Temperatures will continue around or slightly below average next week. The weather will be dry in the mid-upper 60s for any Martin Luther King Jr. or inauguration events on Monday.
