Arizona weather forecast: Warm, near-record temps in Phoenix
PHOENIX - After cool temperatures, rain and snow last week, this week will bring record warmth and sunshine.
What We Can Expect:
Temperatures are forecast to climb into the middle 80s on both Monday and Tuesday. The forecast is 85 degrees on Monday, which is one degree short of the 1925 record of 86 degrees. Tuesday is expected to hit 85, too. The record on Tuesday is currently 85 degrees, set in 1963.
Wednesday and Thursday are likely to reach around 80 degrees – not record-breaking, but still warmer than average.
The ridge of high pressure helping push us into record territory will slowly shift and weaken.
Looking Further Ahead:
However, temperatures remain considerably warmer than typical for early February through the work week and weekend. Highs in the middle to upper 70s are likely through the weekend and even early next week.
The forecast remains dry over the next week, but winds will increase on Tuesday in northern Arizona. Gusts of 25-35 mph are forecast around Flagstaff and Show Low.
Aside from some passing clouds through the week, expect sunshine and dry weather.
