2-year-old boy drowns in Surprise pool

SURPRISE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A 2-year-old boy died after he was pulled from a swimming pool in Surprise on Tuesday.

The Surprise Police Department says the boy was found in the backyard pool by his grandfather at a home near 154th Lane and Mercer just after 8:30 a.m.

The boy's grandfather began CPR until first responders arrived and the boy was immediately transported to a nearby where he later died.

The boy's family says they are not sure how the 2-year-old got out of the house and into the backyard pool.

SkyFox video showed no fence around the pool.

Surprise Police say they are investigating.
