PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Officials say a 4-month-old puppy is recovering after the dog was found in a dumpster with two broken legs.
According to the Arizona Humane Society, the puppy, now named Tommy, was found in a dumpster near 19th Avenue and Bell Road by a Good Samaritan on July 11.
The humane society says Tommy was found wrapped in a blanket wearing a plain collar with no tags. He was taken to a hospital where X-rays revealed both of his back legs were broken.
Tommy has since undergone surgery on both legs and is now recovering in an Arizona Humane Society Hero Home.
If you have any information on who may be responsible for leaving Tommy in a dumpster, you can call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered in this case.
