A stolen bike leads to a random act of kindess
APPLE VALLEY, MN - When 10 year-old Charlotte's bike was stolen from in front of her house, she had the idea to put a sign up at the local convenience store. When her family finally received a response- it wasn't because the bike had been found. It was an incredibly generous offer from Daniel Angerman, a truck driver and father of four. He'd seen the sign a couple of time- and every time it tugged at his heart.
So he texted the family and offered to buy Charlotte a new bike. Charlotte's parents very cautiously agreed to meet Daniel at Wal-Mart so she could pick out a new bicycle- and soon realized he was the real deal. He even bought her a bike lock. He hopes his simple actions can inspire others, as well.
Angerman said, "The reason why I like doing that kind of thing is, it'd be nice if you did see it more. And I think that's really the lesson behind that."
And now Charlotte has posted a new sign at the convenience store- to say thank you. It's a perfect example of being the change you want to see in the world.
