Amber Alert canceled for 2 children allegedly kidnapped by their father in Los Angeles County

The Amber Alert issued on Wednesday morning for two children who police said were abducted by their father was canceled shortly before 1 p.m.

According to Bakersfield Police, 8-year-old Miliana Aguirre and 4-year-old Daniel Aguirre were located with their father, 31-year-old Michael Aguirre. Both of the children were safe and unharmed, police said. Aguiree was arrested without incident.

The California Highway Patrol issued the Amber Alert around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Aguirre allegedly abducted the children Tuesday night in Bakersfield, according to police. The group was last seen in the Marina Del Rey area of Los Angeles County on Tuesday, April 23 just before 6 a.m., according to CHP.

The suspect is described by authorities a Hispanic male, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. According to Bakersfield Police, Aguirre is a known gang member and was to be considered armed and dangerous.
