Arizona board launches website for Hotshots' memorial

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A new website where the public can make online donations toward a memorial for 19 firefighters killed in the Yarnell Hill Fire is up and running.

Officials with Arizona State Parks say the site (http://bit.ly/1M00C0v) also has information about the state board tasked with planning the memorial including meeting schedules and legislation.

State legislation signed by then Gov. Jan Brewer appropriates $500,000 for the state park system to by the site in southwestern Yavapai County. It's on state trust land, which cannot be donated.

The site where the Granite Mountain Hotshots perished when they were overrun by flames on June 30, 2013 is located near Yarnell and about 30 miles southwest of Prescott.

The firefighters all worked for the Prescott Fire Department.
