Arizona parents indicted for allegedly abusing their children: Maricopa County Attorney
TEMPE, Ariz. - Officials with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office say two parents in the East Valley have been indicted for child abuse.
In a statement released on Dec. 17, the suspects were identified as 34-year-old Brittney Furch and 32-year-old Demetrius Jones of Tempe.
"On November 25, 2024, Tempe Police were called to a local hospital where two children, ages four and twelve, were being treated for serious injuries. Those injuries included bruising, swelling, and signs of a nonfatal drowning," read a portion of the statement.
Prosecutors say both Furch and Jones face multiple counts of child abuse, and the two remain in custody. A bond of $100,000 has been set for Furch, while a $75,000 bond was set for Jones.
