Corn dog recall: More Foster Poultry Farms products added

Foster Poultry Farms is expanding its recall of several corn dog products. 

It follows a much larger recall that began last month, which involved several more millions of pounds of corn dog products from various other brands. 

The following product is included in the expanded recall:

Recalled items:

The Foster Poultry Farms product added this week to the ongoing recall is: 

  • Whole Grain Chicken Corn Dog Whole Grain Batter Wrapped Chicken Franks on a Stick Lower Fat products with use by date 8/7/2026

This is in addition to several more chicken corn dog products from Foster Poultry Farms that were recalled earlier this month. See that list here

By the numbers:

The expanded recall includes more than 118,000 pounds of the products, in addition to the 3.9 million pounds of corn dog products that were recalled earlier this month from Foster Poultry Farms. 

Reason for recall:

The Food Safety and Inspection Service began receiving complaints, and learned of five injuries. The company investigated and learned wooden sticks entered the production process prior to the products being battered. 

Sold at:

These items were sold online and shipped to retail and food service locations nationwide. They were also sold commercially to school districts, not through the USDA school lunch program, and to Department of Defense facilities nationwide.

Why you should care:

Consumers, schools, and institutions who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them to prevent any further injury. 

What you can do:

These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Meanwhile:

More than 58 million pounds of other corn dog and sausage on a stick products have been recalled for the same reason. 

Those products included products from Hillshire, most sold under the brand name Jimmy Dean and State Farm with various use by/sell by dates.
