A former American Idol contestant is now singing the blues behind bars, arrested in a drug raid this morning. DPS Gang Enforcement officers served search warrants at two separate Glendale locations. The former contestant is one of four men arrested, accused of selling drugs and gang charges.

33-year-old Perrie Cataldo was on the show in 2008; he was a single father whose singing abilities impressed the judges, and he actually made it through a few rounds. Now he's facing a different kind of judge.

But Cataldo's ticket to Hollywood didn't result in a music career. Seven years later he was captured by DPS Gang Enforcement officers.

"Arrested for possession of heroin, high-grade marijuana, possession of prescription medication," said Raul Garcia with DPS.

DPS served search warrants at two Glendale locations Friday morning. It's the result of a two-months long investigation.

The SWAT team was brought in because the guys they were after were considered armed and dangerous.

"The contraband found was in the amounts for sale and packaged for sale," he said.

This isn't the first time Cataldo has been charged with a crime. In 2006, he was arrested after he was caught walking into a Glendale bar hiding a gun on him.

Now instead of singing for judges for a chance at living out his dream, he'll be facing a judge in court for a chance at defending his innocence and freedom.

DPS says Cataldo lived in one of the homes that was raided, he's now facing several drug, gang, and weapons charges.
