Man accused of cutting off wife's arm is arrested

Police have arrested a man suspected of cutting off his pregnant wife's arm during a dispute in Brooklyn.

Police say the woman's right arm was severed just above the elbow. She also lost two fingers from her left hand in the attack in Sunset Park Thursday afternoon.

The 35-year-old woman, who is pregnant, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was placed in a medically induced coma. She was expected to survive and doctors successfully reattached her arm.

Police were searching for Yong Lu, 35, who fled the scene. He was arrested near Niagara Falls late Saturday night.

The couple have a seven-year-old son and the baby she is carrying is in stable condition.
