Man gets 27 years in prison for murder, burglary of woman

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A 57-year-old man will spend more than two decades in jail after pleading guilty to the 2010 murder and burglary of a Scottsdale woman.

The Daily Courier reports that Robert Wiesner was sentenced in Yavapai County Superior Court on Thursday to 22 years in prison for the murder and five years for the burglary.

Paula Younger, the daughter of murdered woman Lorraine Long, told Wiesner Thursday that her world changed forever when she lost her mother.

She says Wiesner ripped her family apart when he shot 62-year-old Long in the Seligman house she owned.

Wiesner told Long's family that he is sorry.

His son and daughter said they regret Long's death but described Wiesner as a loving father.
