Organizations team up to bring new playground to Valley kids

PHOENIX (FOX 10) - "We have over 200 volunteers mixing concrete, moving mulch, tightening nuts and bolts and really making it happen at NWEC," said Bryan McNamara, project manager at Kaboom!

To complete any big project, it takes a village, especially when you're building an entire playground in just six hours.

So to do just that, Carvana, the Arizona Coyotes Foundation and Kaboom! all partnered up to make this dream a reality, with lots of input from the New World Educational Center Community.

"We came out here about two months ago for a design day where we had kids and parents within the community and the students here at NWEC to actually help design the playground," McNamara said.

The team is replacing the old structure that was more than 20 years old.

"The kids were incredible this morning," said Rich Nairn of the Arizona Coyotes. "They were so excited to get a new playground and we're just so thrilled to give it to them, so it's an honor to be out here and give back to the community."

Aside from giving the NWEC a new place to play, they're also teaching a valuable lesson of working together for the greater good.

"We're super excited to be partnering with the AZ Coyotes Foundation for the third time and for them bringing on a great parner in Carvana," McNamara said." We couldn't do the work that we do without them."
