Phoenix Police search for hit-and-run driver

Phoenix Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who's accused of killing a pedestrian early Sunday morning.

The deadly crash happened just before 4am near 51st Avenue and the Maryvale Parkway, just south of Camelback. Officers say 57-year-old William Barnes was found lying in the road when they arrived, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers say the man was crossing 51st Avenue near the intersection when he was hit by a car that was heading north on 51st Avenue. They say it's possible the driver, who was in a 2005 to 2010 Chrysler 300, may have lower front-end damage, and may be misisng the plastic wheel well.
