Salvation Army serving up holiday cheers on Christmas Day

For many years, it's been a Valley tradition for the Salvation Army to host thousands for a hot meal and some Christmas cheer, and 2017 was no exception.

On Christmas Day morning at the Phoenix Convention Center, everything was merry and bright, but for many, that's not always the case. That was why Salvation Army officials said hosting nearly 5,000 people on Christmas Day for a hot meal and some Christmas cheer is so important.

From pampering to toys to food and games, there's something for everyone. Even though it's festive to volunteer at holiday time, Salvation Army officials are encouraging people to donate their time during the rest of the year, because the need never stops.
