Suspect leads police on wild tow truck chase
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Authorities were led on a wild chase across the valley after a man stole a tow truck.
Freeway cameras captured the strange chase as it unfolded and Phoenix police say the received a call regarding a stolen tow truck at about 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Officers tracked down the tow truck, but the driver would not stop. Troopers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety joined the pursuit and put out stop sticks to slow down the tow truck, which caught fire at one point.
After the chase was over, the driver resisted arrest and K-9's were brought in to take him down. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital after suffering dog bites and booked into jail.
Police have not released his identity.
