PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- Authorities say Transportation Security Administration officers were attacked by a man who attempted to rush through Terminal 4's security checkpoint "D" at Sky Harbor Airport on Tuesday morning.

Phoenix police and transportation security officers were able to subdue the man and arrest him. According to TSA officials, five officers were injured, one had to be taken to the hospital. The rest were taken to urgent care. All five, however, have since been released from medical care.

TSA statement:

"This unprovoked and brazen physical attack against our workforce is unacceptable. We are grateful for our committed workforce and for the role they play in protecting the traveling public every day. We continue to monitor the safety and health of the TSOs involved in this incident and will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation."

The man accused of attacking the TSOs is currently being booked into jail. The suspect has been identified by Phoenix Police officials as 19-year-old Tyrese Garner, and he is being charged with felony criminal trespassing, felony resisting arrest, and five counts of misdemeanor assault.
