Tucson credit union robbery suspect faces Federal bank robbery charge
PHOENIX (AP) - A man accused of holding up a credit union in Tucson two weeks ago now faces a federal bank robbery charge.
A judge on Tuesday ordered Robert Francis Krebs to be jailed until trial after finding he was at risk of skipping out on court dates.
Last summer, he completed a prison sentence for a 1981 bank robbery near Orlando, Florida.
He violated his probation from Florida by failing to inform authorities of his whereabouts.
He has 1966 conviction in Chicago for embezzlement and convictions for theft and armed robbery in Arizona.
Federal authorities listed Krebs' age as 75, but Tucson police and Florida officials say he's 80.
Attorney Jorge Leonardo Costales, who represents Krebs, didn't immediately respond to a phone call seeking comment on behalf of his client.
