MIAMI (FOX 5 Atlanta) - It's not every day that a college student gets honored for their behavior on spring break, but a University of West Georgia student spent his time off doing good.
It earned him high praise from officials in Florida this week.
Joshua Caraway spent spring break in Miami.
Instead of partying, he spent his days on the beach picking up trash.
Now the teen has received top honors from the city of Miami Beach.
City leaders even created a proclamation to formally thank him.
Caraway's beach cleanup went viral.
Hundreds of thousands of people saw his act of selflessness.
Now city leaders hope it motivates others to help out when they can.
