Valley father accused of abusing infant; son not expected to survive

A Valley father behind bars, accused of abusing his one-month old son so badly that the infant is not expected to survive.

According to Tolleson Police, the father, identified as Jose Jesus Trevizo, is facing two felony child abuse charges. The victim in this case is a one-month-old.

According to court documents, Trevizo, 22, told Tolleson Police that his son wouldn't stop crying Friday night. He says he shook him several times, and threw him on the bed.

Trevizo was alone with his infant son at a short-term rental unit near the I-10 and 91st Avenue. The infant's mother, who is Trevizo's girlfriend, was at work.

Tolleson police say the baby received no medical attention until Saturday morning, when the baby's mother returned home and called 911. Trevizo told police he did not call 911 because he was scared and did not want to go back to jail. Trevizo was reportedly on probation for two incidents last year. One involved the theft of car, and the other involved spying on women in an airport restroom.

Trevizo is scheduled to be back in court on March 12.
