Oakland A's catcher Bruce Maxwell arrested in Scottsdale

Oakland A's catcher Bruce Maxwell was arrested in Scottsdale after he allegedly pointed a gun at a female food delivery driver.

Scottsdale Police say they were called out to the baseball player's home after 6 p.m. on Saturday night. They say officers responded to a call from a food delivery worker who stated that Maxwell pointed a gun at her.

Police say Maxwell showed signs of being intoxicated and admitted to having a gun on his hip. Maxwell told police he canceled his food odor, and admitted, then denied to un-holstering his gun.

Maxwell also denied pointing his gun at the delivery driver, according to police.

At some point during their conversation, police say Maxwell became verbally aggressive towards officers, began using profanities, and made anti-police statements.

After being identified by the victim, Maxwell was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.

Police say they contacted the business from where Maxwell ordered food and his order was never canceled.
