Former Arizona teacher sentenced to 187 years in prison

Cory Kapahulehua, a 44-year-old man who once worked as a teacher at the Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center in Mesa, has been sentenced to 187 years in prison, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

Fremont County Prosecuting Attorney Lindsey Blake discusses the Lori Vallow-Chad Daybell case and saga that began making international headlines in 2019. The so-called ?Doomsday Mom? and ?Doomsday Prophet? are now both convicted in the murders of Lori?s two youngest children JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and Chad?s first wife Tammy Daybell. New evidence contradicts testimony by Daybell's daughter

In the prosecution?s rebuttal, Detective Bruce Mattingly with the Fremont County Sheriff?s Office returned to testify on a conversation between he and Emma Murray, the daughter of Chad and Tammy Daybell. An audio recording played in court challenged what Emma said in her testimony regarding the results of her mom?s autopsy and the conditions of learning the findings.

Testimony challenges statement made by Daybell's son

A new witness called by the prosecution for rebuttal, states that Garth Daybell told him how he found his dead mother Tammy Daybell on October 19, 2019. The witness says Garth?s father Chad was not around in the house. In prior testimony by Garth Daybell, he said his father woke him up to help after his mother was found deceased.

On Day 27 of Chad Daybell?s triple murder trial, his defense called on Dr. Kathy Raven to testify. Raven is a forensic pathologist who reviewed the autopsy report on Tammy Daybell who prosecutors say was murdered by Chad on October 19, 2019.

'Blueprint' discussed before discovery of JJ, Tylee

A never before heard jail phone call between Chad Daybell and ?Doomsday Mom? Lori Vallow on June 8, 2020. Vallow asks her husband for reassurance the day before her kids were found dead in Daybell?s backyard. At the time, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan had been missing since September 2019. On the call, Daybell claims he had texted with Vallow?s dead brother Alex Cox.

The last day Tylee Ryan was seen alive

Retired FBI special agent Ricky Wright testified on day 23 of Chad Daybell murder trial, breaking down the digital trace of Tylee Ryan?s locations by way of her uncle Alex Cox?s cell phone device. Tylee had gone on a trip to Yellowstone National Park with her mother Lori Vallow, brother JJ Vallow and Alex Cox in his truck before returning home to Rexburg, Idaho on September 8th, 2019. She would never be seen alive again.

Daybell predicted death percentages for victims

The State of Idaho's last witness is retired FBI agent Doug Hart who walked the court through disturbing text messages between Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow. The messages were exchanged in 2019 before the death of Tammy Daybell, Chad's first wife. Daybell discussed "death percentages" he came up with specifically for Tammy and JJ Vallow, the adopted son of Lori Vallow.

Romantic texts between Chad & Lori read in court

On day 22 of the Chad Daybell triple murder trial, romantic text messages between Chad and Lori Vallow were read in court. FBI agent Nicole Heidemann, a tactical specialist, took the stand to testify again on digital evidence recovered. ?He kissed her deeply as their breathing slow. He held her tightly before they began another round of pleasurable bonding,? reads one of the texts from Chad to Lori. ?That is pretty incredible,? followed by fire emojis.
