Once again, we're looking at a high in the 90s when we should be five to ten degrees hotter. It's having an impact on how people are spending their time and their money. Sky Harbor, NWS keeping flights safe during monsoon
The start of the monsoon is just days away, so we're getting an inside look to see how Sky Harbor Airport is preparing for the storm season. Monsoon storms hit hard and they hit fast, so communication is key. The National Weather Service says during the monsoon, they send daily weather briefings to the airport so they can prepare in advance for any severe weather. Once they get word of a storm, the airport tracks it as it comes in and sends out alerts to their crews to secure the runways.

A hot shot crew from Mesa is in Canada helping fight the massive fires. They'll head home from their 21-day deployment this Thursday. Crews have been working 14 hour shifts to get a handle on these massive fires in Central Alberta, about three hours north of Edmonton.
