4-inch fractured gas line leads to Phoenix intersection closure

PHOENIX - Phoenix Fire Department Hazardous Materials Crews assisted Southwest Gas in securing a broken 4 inch gas line near 48th Street and Thomas Road.

Authorities say construction crews were doing scheduled roadwork when the gas line was broken by a piece of heavy equipment just after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The intersection was shut down in all four directions while crews made repairs. No evacuations were necessary and no injuries were reported.
