America 250: National Parks offering free admission for 4th of July weekend

The Brief

    • National Parks that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission for the 4th of July weekend.
    • National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone from July 3–5.
    • Free entrance will be for US citizens and residents only. Nonresidents will pay the regular entrance fee and any applicable nonresident fees.

You can celebrate America's 250th anniversary and visit a National Park for free this weekend.

All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to US citizens and permanent residents. Nonresidents must pay entrance and any nonresident fees unless they have the Non-Resident Annual Pass.

In addition to free admission over the 4th of July weekend, there are three upcoming days when entrance fees are waived.

  • October 27: Theodore Roosevelt's birthday
  • November 11: Veterans Day
