The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) officially start car recalls after receiving complaints from consumers.
Henkel Corporation is voluntarily recalling certain cans of extra strong hair mousse sold across the United States because of a "packaging defect" that could cause the pressurized containers to leak and potentially explode.
The recall was announced by the company and published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Aug. 11.

According to the recall notice, the affected product is Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip Mousse, 6.76 fl. oz./200 ml, packaged in aluminum cans.
Henkel said the potential packaging issue could allow the product to leak from the container while under pressure, creating an explosion hazard.

The recalled mousse was distributed through 21 distributors in Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Washington. The product was also sold at the retail level to consumers and hair professionals.

Henkel emphasized that no other company products are included in the recall. Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip cans carrying batch codes that are not among the 25 listed in the announcement are not affected.
Consumers urged to return affected cans

Henkel initiated the recall after receiving one customer complaint and two reports from salons.

The customer reported bruising to the hand, according to the announcement. No other injuries have been identified.
