Glendale police search for suspect who tried to kidnap teen

GLENDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) - Glendale police are searching for a suspect who they say tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl.

According to the Glendale Police Department, the teen was loading something into her mother's car outside their apartment near 65th Avenue and Maryland on May 7 when a man grabbed her from behind and dragged her to a nearby alley.

Police say the man told the teen to "shut up" and that he would "kill her."

The teen was able to fight off the man and she ran home.

The suspect ran away and no vehicle was seen. He's described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, weighing 180 pounds and is 5'9" with shaved or short black hair.

Police say he has a scar on his upper right forearm and his left eyebrow is partially shaved. He was wearing a short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans with a hole in the knee.

"That's terrible," said a woman. "I have grandchildren of my own, and I wouldn't want that to happen."
