Possible road-rage shooting on I-10: DPS

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says they are investigating a possible road-rage shooting along Interstate 10 on Wednesday in west Phoenix.

What we know:

The incident happened at 10 a.m.on Oct. 1 in the westbound lanes near 43rd Avenue.

"The driver of the victim vehicle remained on scene," DPS said. "Troopers responded and provided medical assistance to the driver who sustained a gun shot wound to the leg. He was transported to the hospital for treatment."

Several lanes of traffic were temporarily blocked due to law enforcement activity. The eastbound lanes weren't affected.

What we don't know:

No identities were released. It's unknown what led up to the shooting.

DPS did not say if anyone would face charges.
