Tomato soup sold in 14 states recalled over undeclared milk allergen, FDA says

A tomato soup brand is being recalled after a routine inspection detected the presence of an undeclared milk allergen.

The Food and Drug Administration said in a Dec. 9 recall notice that Lil’ Turtles recalled all lots of its Grandma Belle’s Tomato Basil Soup for "misbranding" due to the milk allergen not being declared on the label. These products were packaged in 17 ounce glass jars.

FDA officials said there have been no reports of illnesses linked to the tomato soup, but warned that individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may risk a serious allergic reaction if they consume the product.
