Distressed pelican found in AZ returned to California after treatment
A brown pelican found in distress in the Arizona desert during the summer heat is now at La Jolla Cove in southern California. After Liberty Wildlife in Phoenix rescued the brown pelican, they reached out to SeaWorld San Diego, which picked up the bird in Yuma. The team brought it to its rescue facility, providing four months of care to rehabilitate the pelican.

A massive new telescope got installed at the International Dark Sky Discovery Center near Fountain Hills and Palisades Boulevards. Visitors will be able to see planets and galaxies and experience a planetarium, an observatory and an interactive exhibit hall when it opens in summer 2026.
