Arizona weather forecast: Slim chance for rain in Phoenix

Our active weather pattern continues!

Throughout the day Tuesday, the area will see light, scattered rain and snow showers. The showers will be mostly focused over north-central parts of the state, including parts of Coconino, Yavapai, Gila and Navajo Counties. Any precipitation will be light and snow may melt onto things like roads and pavement.

What We Can Expect:

For Phoenix, Tuesday is generally dry with a mix of clouds and sunshine. A few isolated showers are possible along the edge of the Valley, but rain showers are more likely by early Wednesday morning.

As the storm system begins to spin eastward, away from us, moisture will wrap around the backside of the storm. This moisture will drop from north to south toward Phoenix, and provide the Valley with a chance for a few morning showers.

Through the afternoon on Wednesday, there will be a chance for light to steady snow showers in the High Country, including over the eastern parts of the state, like the White Mountains. Snow totals will yet again not be large. However, a few inches will be possible in areas like Flagstaff (1-3"), Payson and Prescott (1-2") or Pinetop-Lakeside (1-3").

What's next:

By early Thursday morning, the region dries out and temperatures start to climb. Highs will only reach the lower 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Valley.

By Thursday, highs hit the middle 60s. The upper 60s on Friday and the middle 70s by Saturday are forecast. Sunday and beyond, temperatures will sit near or above 80 degrees.
