MESA. Ariz. (KSAZ) - Mesa Police are investigating a deadly crash that involved several cars, including an unmarked police vehicle.
Steven Berry with Mesa Police say the scene of the crash is at the intersection of Main Street and Mesa Drive, where three detectives were in a car when it was hit while it was waiting at the traffic light. No officers were hurt in the accident, but an unidentified adult driver, identified by Berry as the driver of a suspect vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.
Light rail operations, Berry says, is shut down west of Mesa Drive. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
