Thousands of users reported an outage on Slack Wednesday, according to Downdetector.

What we know:

The company shared on its status website it was investigating a "severe latency" issue that was impacting "all Slack services."

Slack said while most of features have been restored, messaging and workflows may still have "lingering" issues.

Those lingering issues include:

  • Empty pills instead of @-mention
  • Delayed reacji
  • Mismatch in Channel member count and channel membership
  • Slow loading of messages, user avatars, and unfurls

Users were experiencing delayed messages and some were unable to use the desktop Slack app.

What we don't know:

The company did not have an ETA on when the issue would be resolved or what caused the glitch.

What they're saying:

"Teams continue to implement configuration adjustments and deployment fixes to resolve the issue. All features except for Workflows and Messaging should be recovered," according to the Slack status website.
