Dog rescued from Lookout Mountain ready for adoption

A dog rescued from the side of Lookout Mountain a week ago is now up for adoption. A good Samaritan found the two-year-old Shar Pei mix in a small cutout about a half-mile up the trail. Arizona Humane Society workers helped carry her down. Now named Bright Eyes, she's ready for someone to take her home. She's available at the Papago Park campus off Loop 202 Red Mountain and Van Buren Street. There's no adoption fee for Bright Eyes or any other dog six months or older through May 10.

Lone dog rescued from Arizona's Lookout Mountain

New video released on Thursday shows a dog rescued from the side of Lookout Mountain. A good Samaritan found the dog, a two-year-old Shar Pei mix, in a small cutout about a half-mile up the trail. The dog was dangerously dehydrated with wounds on her paws. Arizona Humane Society dispatchers took turns carrying her down the mountain. The hiker said he only saw her because of her eyes, and as such, she's been named "Bright Eyes." She's now receiving the care she needs.
