Police: Man followed woman, drove wrong way in Scottsdale

Police say a man was arrested after he continuously rear-ended another driver and struck another vehicle while leading officers on a wrong-way pursuit in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale police say 25-year-old Jowen Moses was arrested after he allegedly followed another driver and rear-ended her multiple times while she was on the phone with a 911 operator near Scottsdale and Thomas Roads on November 10.

Several minutes later, an officer observed Moses' vehicle and tried to pull him over. Moses pulled into a nearby parking lot, made a U-turn and sped away at a high rate of speed. Moses then began driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of Thomas Road.

After driving through a red light, Moses hit an SUV that was traveling southbound on 48th Street. After hitting the SUV, Moses' vehicles spun around and struck a Scottsdale patrol vehicle.

Moses was combative with officers and was ultimately arrested following a brief struggle. Police say after his arrest, Moses tried to commit suicide in his jail cell and was then hospitalized.

He faces DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving and aggravated assault charges.
